The Wusthof Company is a family owned business for seven generations in Solingen, Germany.
It is currently run by a most charming Wusthof, Harald Wuesthof. The company has been making German knives since 1917 and has only 300 employees to make those very fabulous knives. They are exceptional & are made of special German steel that will hold incredible edge. That is their hallmark & what sets them apart.

The Grand Prix II line of kitchen knives is the second rendition of this series & has a black molded handle with a full tang and heavy bolster. It traditionally has been less expensive than the Classic Line. Classic Wusthof has a riveted handle that is a quite different look & feel but the knives themselves are the same.
